Don't mess with something if it has any paperwork or bureaucracy to go through.

Prime examples from my life from the past few months:
Corrected my state tax return: refund still not arrived.
Tried to change delivery mode of Visa from the consulate: Visa got lost and stuck for weeks.
Corrected date-of-sale of car with my auto insurance policy: refund still not arrived.

What do I take away from this?
In getting my stay permit from the residency authorities in Italy, I will not, as they suggest, go to the appointment and bring the missing documents at a later date. I will instead go up to Trento for an extra few days to get everything taken care of before the appointment. ...hey, at least I learned something... I think...
